A man (speaking Polish well but with a distinct Eastern accent) claimed to be an employee of BNP Paribas bank and informed me that someone had placed an order for a large transfer from my account, the bank suspects it's fraud and we need to take protective measures. I hung up and then called the bank myself. Of course, the number doesn't belong to the bank, everything is fine with the account, and the call was an attempt to obtain access to the account.

I hung up and then called the bank myself. Of course, the number does not belong to the bank, everything is fine with the account, and the call was an attempt to gain access to the account.

Luty 2024. Pan (mówiący dobrze po polsku ale z wyraźnym wschodnim akcentem) podał się za pracownika banku BPN Paribas i poinformował mnie że ktoś złożył zlecenie przelewu na dużą kwotę z mojego rachunku, bank podejrzewa że to oszustwo i musimy podjąć działania zabezpieczające. Rozłączyłam się, a potem sama zadzwoniłam do banku. Oczywiście numer nie należy do banku, z kontem wszystko OK, a telefon był próbą wyłudzenia dostępu do konta.
